I’m delighted to now be working as an ambassador for Positive View Foundation. Here is some background information on the work Positive View is doing in their educational programme –

Positive View, the charity that changes lives through photography, is proud to announce its first Ambassadors;  acclaimed photographers, Miles Aldridge, Susan Derges, Alison Jackson, Nadav Kander, Simon Roberts, Tom Stoddart, Dougie Wallace, Richard Young, and documentary film maker Mark Gostick.

Each Ambassador has committed to deliver an annual master class which will sit at the heart of one of the innovative ten week Positive View education projects that enable some of London’s most disadvantaged young people to successfully refocus their lives.

The Positive View Education Programme is unique in supporting course costs for young people in this way – creating positive futures for young people, especially those living in our deprived inner city areas.

You can find out more here and watch a video about how photography changed the life of Dennis Gyamfi here- https://vimeo.com/118244469.

For only £50, you have the opportunity to own a limited edition print, donated by one of 150 photographers. Photographers include Martin Parr, Brian Griffin, Simon Roberts, Zed Nelson and Thomas Kellner.

In an exciting twist, this one-night-only event will be in a raffle-style format, with each numbered ticket corresponding to a print.

Tickets can be purchased on the night at Diemar Noble or online at Rhubarb Rhubarb for those who cannot attend the event.

Proceeds from this event will support future Rhubarb productions, specifically including a 10-year retrospective of Rhubarb & its contribution to the sector.

Rhubarb-Rhubarb is a West Midlands based photography training and development agency, which works to introduce photographers at different stages of their careers to those who can provide opportunities for future commissions, exhibitions & publication. This is done through a series of regional, national & international initiatives. Rhubarb-Rhubarb curates exhibitions & provides networks for selling, publishing and offering support to buyers & commissioners. Rhubarb-Rhubarb works to build the confidence of photographers facing the rapidly changing industry & marketplaces, virtual & in real time, by supporting mentoring courses, events, portfolio sessions & the UK’s International Photographic Review. Through these outlets Rhubarb-Rhubarb aims to nurture talent, inspire growth and make life and environment a more creative & pleasurable place to be.

We hope you will be able to join us in supporting Rhubarb-Rhubarb’s continued dedication to photographers & the photographic industry.

On 19 May 2012 The Photographers’ Gallery will open their newly transformed building in London. They’ve raised over £8.5 million towards the project and are within sight of the total – please help them to raise the final £30k towards their goal.

So why not buy a virtual brick and help them reach the target? Join the wall of supporters by buying a brick at £10, £20 or £50. Buy a brick here.
