I’m delighted to announce that prints from my Pierdom series have been acquired by two British museum collections – Towner in Eastbourne and Grundy in Blackpool – in collaboration with Flowers Gallery.

Eastbourne Pier, East Sussex, 2011

‘Eastbourne Pier, East Sussex, 2011’ 48 x 60″ (Fuji Crystal Archive Paper) has been acquired by Towner, Eastbourne.

Towner houses an internationally renowned collection of around 6000 works.  The Towner Collection is best known for its modern British art – including the broadest and most significant body of work by Eric Ravilious (1903-1942).  Contemporary artists represented in the Towner Collection include: Olafur Eliasson, Wolfgang Tillmans, Anya Gallaccio, Julian Opie, Tacita Dean and Grayson Perry.

As part of the celebrations for Towner Charitable Trust’s launch weekend this weekend, they are offering free tours of their Collection Store Tours, where you can see some of the highlights of their collection. More information here.

Blackpool South Pier, Lancashire, 2008

‘Blackpool South Pier, Lancashire, 2008‘ 20 x 24″ (Fuji Crystal Archive Paper) has been acquired by Grundy Art Gallery, Blackpool.

Grundy Art Gallery organizes a programme of contemporary visual art exhibitions that feature the work of established and emerging artists from the UK and abroad, as well as historically important artwork loaned from major UK institutions and objects from its own permanent collection.

Grundy’s collection, which is displayed as part of the temporary exhibitions programme and is not on permanent display, includes Victorian oils and watercolours, modern British paintings, contemporary prints, jewellery and video, oriental ivories, ceramics, and photographs and souvenirs of Blackpool.
